Blackhawk Medical was founded by Virginia Powell, Nurse Practitioner, from a deep desire to serve veterans with greater thoroughness, clarity, and care. Through her close connection to the veteran community — including her husband’s service as both a Blackhawk pilot and medical helicopter pilot in Mississippi — she saw firsthand how often important details can be missed and how difficult it can be to access the support and services needed.

That perspective shaped the foundation of Blackhawk Medical: a practice built on precision, grounded care, and a commitment to doing things thoroughly. While the current focus is on supporting veterans through disability evaluations, the broader mission is to provide thoughtful, high-standard care that serves people well and creates meaningful partnerships in the communities Blackhawk Medical supports.
